Direct Entry
Who is it for? Students who already meet the university academic and English language entry requirements.
Typical requirements:
- High school diploma
- A Levels, IB, AP or recognised international qualifications
- Required IELTS or equivalent English qualification
Benefits:
- Start directly in Year 1
- No pathway year required
- Apply through UCAS or directly to universities
- Access to thousands of undergraduate programmes
Foundation Programme
Foundation programmes are designed for students who do not yet meet the academic or English language requirements for direct undergraduate entry.
Students develop:
- Academic English
- Subject-specific knowledge
- Study skills
- Research and academic writing
After successfully completing the programme, students progress to the first year of a bachelor degree, subject to meeting progression requirements.
International Year One (IYO)
International Year One allows eligible students to begin university studies at first-year level while receiving additional academic and language support. After successful completion, students normally progress directly to the second year of their bachelor degree, depending on programme requirements.
Ideal for students who:

- Need additional academic preparation
- Want to reduce the overall duration of their pathway
